OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
A discussion with the Public Service Commission concerning data centers and transmission lines in West Virginia.
Purpose of the Meeting
This session is part of the Commission’s series of public comment events for the Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link (MARL) transmission line project. The MARL would connect power stations in southwestern Pennsylvania to a substation in Virginia via 105 miles of 500 kV transmission lines, crossing through four West Virginia counties: Monongalia, Preston, Mineral, and Hampshire.
The project has been approved by the regional transmission operator PJM but still requires state regulatory approval from the PSC. The Commission is accepting public comments on the proposal, and decisions are expected in March 2027.
Who Can Attend
Nonparties to the case (not legal interveners) are welcome to attend and speak.
Public comments may also be submitted online via the Commission’s “Formal Case” link or by mail to Karen Buckley, Executive Secretary, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323 West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
Comments should include the case name (Nextera Energy Transmission Midatlantic, Inc.) and case number ( 26-0075-E-CN) West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
