Clare is a proud Morgantown, West Virginia native. For over a decade, she has served as a federal worker, researching anti-poverty programs and trying to figure out how to make them work better. She and her husband, Ace, moved back to Clare’s hometown of Morgantown from DC because they wanted to raise their daughter around family. They love West Virginia and often say that moving here was the best life decision they ever made! In her free time, Clare enjoys reading non-fiction, running on the rail trail, spending time with friends and family, and supporting refugee newcomers to our community.  

In the face of the many threats today to our fundamental democratic institutions, Clare draws strength and hope from the rising tide of citizen involvement here in West Virginia. She, Patricia, and Amanda facilitate the membership team, which focuses on ensuring we have comprehensive, accurate, and secure membership rolls; welcoming new members and helping them plug in; and reaching out to partner organizations and communities.
