Our actions and behavior are guided by four core principles:
Listen with a spirit of inquiry and curiosity to ALL people's perspectives and gifts, which means we both have to step up and step back to share the air.
Be ok with disagreement, which means that we treat people with grace and respect, assume positive intentions, and know that we don't all have to agree, but we are committed to moving forward together
Act non-violently in all we do.
Have fun, so we can be a joyful resistance with the stamina to run the whole race.
These norms also apply to our adversaries: We treat all people with dignity, act non-violently, and push back against wrongs, not people.Â
When a member violates these norms, we respond with grace, assume best intentions, and ask the member to apologize and make amends when possible. Members and officers can be asked to leave the group for violating norms, as outlined in our forthcoming bylaws.
